Wenatchee Midwife Service & Childbirth Center has a "freestanding"
birth center, with no hospital affiliation. It was founded in 1996 to provide a safe birthing option to low risk women in
a home-like setting.
Since 1996 over 500 babies have been welcomed
at the birth center. The birth center serves the greater Wenatchee valley, including families that come from as far as Twisp,
Coulee City and Ellensburg.
Each family that chooses the birth center has
their own private birthing room with a double bed, private bathroom with Jacuzzi tub, and fully equipped kitchen. A waiting
room for friends and family is also available.
The birth center is licensed
by the Washington State Department of Health and the Medical Assistance Administration.
